Couponing for Good: How Champions for Kids and All You Help Families

Photo Source:  Mend Pregnancy Resource Center

Earlier this month I joined Champions for Kids to promote a Couponing for Good service project. As part of that effort I chose to donate the baby food items I purchased to Mend Pregnancy Resource Center.

Mend is close to my heart — I volunteered there in college and my sister-in-law’s mother is the founder. The center supports expectant and new mothers with resources, encouragement, and practical help throughout pregnancy and after.

Mend accepts ongoing donations of clothing, diapers, baby food and other essentials so parents can get what they need for their children. I felt it was important to direct my coupon-savings toward items that would help families right away.

Using coupons made it easy to buy a good quantity of baby food to donate, and I dropped the items off during Mend’s regular hours. Donating is simple and the center ensures donations go to families who need them most.

Mend also runs programs that let parents earn points toward baby supplies by attending helpful classes. Those programs provide education and support for both parents and children, giving families tools to thrive beyond immediate needs.

No parent should have to worry whether they can feed their children. Kids deserve to be children — playful, imaginative, and carefree. Small acts of kindness and community support can make a big difference and help families regain stability.

We all face difficulties at times, and sometimes a small blessing provides the strength needed to move forward. Use your savings or time to help others; it isn’t just about the money saved with coupons, it’s about the lives those resources support.
