My first visit to Rodeo Goat was in 2016, and I was hooked from the start. The service stood out — our server, Nandy, made the experience memorable. Friendly, knowledgeable staff set the tone for a relaxed meal.

My friend ordered the Royal With Cheese and paired it with a Revolver Sidewinder. I chose the Telluride Burger, enjoyed with a Real Ale Fireman after a generous taste test from Nandy. While we waited, we stepped outside to play a ring-on-a-string game and had a little friendly wager — good times and great anticipation for the food.

The burgers and hand-punched fries at Rodeo Goat are reliably delicious. Burgers are cooked to order and easily customized, so you can add or remove toppings to suit your taste.

On a more recent visit in November 2018 I brought a fellow food blogger who was in town. As expected, the burgers and fries impressed both of us. I again ordered the Telluride Burger — it remains my favorite. Fortunately my cow’s milk allergy doesn’t extend to goat milk, so I enjoyed goat cheese on the burger. The sandwich was so generously built it was a challenge to fit in one bite.

My friend tried the Sugar Burger and liked it, though it became a bit sweet midway through. Between the inventive toppings and the Texas-sourced beef from 44 Farms, each bite was full of flavor. We shared a serving of crispy hand-cut fries, and my friend finished with a pecan hand pie made by Puttin on the Ritz Catering.
