If you have a child who loves Minecraft and tends to procrastinate, you know how helpful it is to have school supplies ready for after-school homework time. Small interruptions — like searching for a sharpened pencil or a scrap of paper — can turn into several minutes lost before work resumes.
Enter the Homework Tool Box

I discovered a handy caddy at HomeGoods, but any container will do: a plastic cleaning caddy from the dollar store, a large shoebox, or a desk organizer. The important thing is that it holds the basics — pencils, paper, scissors, a pencil sharpener, and crayons or colored pencils — so homework can start right away.

Here’s what we keep in our box, along with the book we’re currently reading.

I added a glass cup temporarily to hold Sharpies until I find a pencil caddy I like better. A Mead pencil holder keeps special art supplies and a large gum eraser organized; it’s nice because it stands on its own.

I’ve fallen in love with the Tool Box and would love one for my own doodling!

Our Homework Tool Box has reclaimed valuable minutes each day, giving our busy family more time for school activities and evening routines. Making a simple, well-stocked box is an easy step toward smoother homework sessions — I encourage you to assemble one for your household.
