Like my air fryer green beans recipe, these air fryer baby potatoes are one of my favorite easy sides. They take only minutes to prepare and require minimal ingredients. Air frying reduces cook time and uses less oil than oven roasting, and it frees up oven space—handy for quick weeknight dinners or larger holiday meals.

This recipe uses just five core ingredients you likely have on hand. It comes together fast and is easily customized. Try adding fresh garlic, onion powder, red pepper flakes, chili powder, curry powder, Italian seasoning, or finishing with fresh herbs and lemon wedges. These baby potatoes are a flexible side that adapts to many flavor profiles.

Serve them with a main like crockpot ham, maple glazed ham, or cast iron pork chops. If you want more air fryer sides, try air fryer green beans, air fryer broccoli, or air fryer asparagus.

How long to cook baby potatoes in air fryer

Crispy baby potatoes usually take about 15 minutes at 400°F (200°C). Turn them halfway through for even browning. After 15 minutes, test with a fork—when tender with a crispy skin they’re done. If needed, cook 2–3 minutes longer.

Air Fryer Baby Potatoes Ingredients

  • Baby Potatoes – Red, baby yellow, baby gold, new potatoes, or fingerlings all work well.
  • Olive Oil – Just enough to coat the potatoes; you can also use an oil spray.
  • Seasonings – I use salt, black pepper, garlic powder, grated Parmesan, and paprika. Optional additions: fresh rosemary, cayenne, Cajun seasoning, or other favorites.

Air Fryer with Trays

Many air fryers use baskets, but models with trays give more surface area and allow cooking multiple items at once. Trays are useful when you need a single layer for vegetables. Choose the design that fits your needs and the recipes you cook most often.

How to Make Air Fryer Baby Potatoes

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the baby potatoes and pat dry. Halve small potatoes or quarter larger ones and place them in a mixing bowl. Toss with olive oil, garlic powder, grated Parmesan, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Arrange the seasoned potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket or on a tray. Cook 15 minutes, turning once halfway through for even browning. Test doneness with a fork—potatoes should be tender and have crisp skin. If not fully cooked, air fry 2–3 minutes more.
