After a week-long vacation, I’m packing up and leaving the 603 area code for a new chapter in Portland, Maine. Between moving boxes and to-do lists, life has been hectic—so I’m keeping this post short and sweet. Mostly because starting over requires a lot of coffee runs and Target stops.

I’m picky about ingredients—no unnecessary additives or long lists of sugar substitutes—so I checked the label like any registered dietitian would.

The powder I tested is straightforward: rice and vegetable proteins, cocoa, added fiber, and a stevia-style sweetener. It’s non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free—clean and simple, which I appreciate.

I even tasted the powder on its own. It was velvety and rich in chocolate flavor—an excellent base for a mocha bite.

Ingredients
- 1 scoop vegan chocolate protein powder
- ¼ cup natural peanut butter
- 4–5 tablespoons almond milk
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder
- ½ tablespoon vegan chocolate protein powder (for coating)
- ½ teaspoon espresso powder (for coating)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl (reserve the extra protein and espresso for coating).
- Mix until the mixture forms a dough. Add a splash more almond milk if it feels too dry.
- Divide and form into four balls.
- In a shallow dish, mix the reserved protein powder and espresso powder.
- Roll each ball in the coating mixture until well coated.
